#### Terminal offline: how to keep taking payments

If the terminal can’t transmit a transaction to the card issuer (for example, due to a communications issue or the issuer being unavailable), it may switch into **electronic fallback (EFB)** mode.

- EFB transactions require a **signature**.
- You may see response code **“08 Approved with signature”**.

Keep the terminal powered on (and keep mobile devices on charge), as offline transactions will be submitted automatically once the terminal is back online.

If you’re using a Move5000, you can also try forcing submission by selecting **ADMIN → REPEATS** on the terminal.
